About the role
Tigris Data is looking for a Member of Technical Staff to join the DevOps team. This is a senior position that will be key in building a modern, scalable, and secure object storage platform that forms a critical part of our customers' tech stack.
What you'll be doing
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of our cloud infrastructure
- Build robust, self-healing features and automation that reduce operational effort and improve service uptime
- Deploy and maintain production environments that require high availability
- Ensure our and our customer's data is safe and secure, including in disaster recovery situations
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments and rollbacks as needed
- Monitor the infrastructure and services to identify performance issues and problematic trends proactively
- Ensure our services meet stability, performance, and availability requirements
- Be heavily involved in setting the platform vision, contributing to roadmaps, and writing design documents for potential projects
- Facilitate and drive engineering best practice conversations across the organization
- Mentor other engineers to help foster a cohesive team environment

- You have a mentoring mindset and love to model modern methodologies for unit tests, code review, design documentation, debugging, and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience in DevOps / SRE function, working on distributed systems
- Experience with distributed cloud computing services deployment (AWS — Amazon Web Services), infrastructure as code (Terraform), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and container lifecycle (Docker)
- Experience with security hardening to protect against possible attacks
- Experience with systems configuration management and designing, building, and operating CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with application performance measurement (APM) systems and automation to monitor and manage performance and availability of services
- Experience operating one or more of these distributed database technologies: FoundationDB, HBase, Cassandra, etc.
